Illinois passed a law that all seniors must fill out either FAFSA, alternative form, or opt-out form in order to graduate from an Illinois public school.

The application process opens up. The recommendation is to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible in order to "get in line" for financial assistance. Illinois is a state that gives away funds on a "first come first served" basis until the funds are distributed.
